A visual network of words and relations

I found an interesting free web service that provides a special kind of visual dictionary, thesaurus and associations between words.

Here is a brief description taken from the Visuwords web site:
"Visuwords™ online graphical dictionary — Look up words to find their meanings and associations with other words and concepts. Produce diagrams reminiscent of a neural net. Learn how words associate."

visit: http://www.visuwords.com/

I like the work made by the web service authors and also the software techniques used to "draw" the floating graphical "neural" network. Try your own words, I just tried the words "Java", "Guinness", "Pascal" and, of course, also "Bologna".

Moreover we can also download the Visuwords source code. It seems like a mix of a Flash (.fla object and actionscript) and some PHP scripts:
what about using that technology to build diagrams for specific Lotus Domino web applications? ;-)

As for my previous post, I'm beginning to notice some nice web applications written in Flash, although I still care about true standard Web 2.0 technologies ;-)

Molto interessante.
