Some weeks ago, when I was Indonesia, I and Elly decided to have a traditional Chinese engagement (she's Indonesian from Chinese grandparents), that means:
- ask her hand to her parents, surrounded by some relatives (2o people or more)
- give her a gold pendant named Double Happiness
- give relatives a bag with traditional cookies (8 types, 8 meanings), one apple, one orange
- have a dinner all together to celebrate the engagement
